Please see the below press release from the Faculty for more information:

Invitation to apply to join the Faculty of Clinical Informatics

Over the past year, we are pleased to have grown to a membership cohort of 151 Founding Fellows and Fellows. This has led to election of the first Council and Officers, who assumed responsibility for the Faculty from the Shadow Board in June, and their hard work alongside colleagues on standing committees has brought us to the next major stage of its development in opening recruitment for Members and Associates as well as Fellows.

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics has been established to give professional leadership to clinical informaticians within the UK. Membership encompasses health and social care professionals who utilise their specialist knowledge through data, information and information technology, to ensure safe, effective and efficient person-centred care.
If you are interested in joining the Faculty as a Fellow, Member or Associate, then you can check the criteria set-out below, which will provide a guide as to the most appropriate category for you.

It is not expected that all criteria will be met but the overall contribution will be assessed.

Membership Criteria Specifications

Clinical Informaticians applying to become a Fellows or Member of the Faculty must be registered with a statutory body overseen by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA). Those applying as Associates of the Faculty do not need to be registered with a statutory body overseen by the PSA.

Overseas candidates who are not registered with PSA recognised bodies may apply to be Associates, and applications for Fellowship and Membership for all overseas candidates will open in 2019. Please register your interest if you would like to be kept up to date with news about this.

The Faculty Council will approve the final list before any announcements are made in February 2019.
