Is Linux certification a worthwhile pursuit?

My name is Mark Moralls and I graduated with a BS in Health Informatics and obtained an RHIA license as well. Jobs in my area are very difficult to obtain with just my credentials. I am working full time in retail and hope to do volunteer work at a hospital nearby with the intention of getting a job in the HIM department.

Thinking long term, I was wondering if a Linux Certified Systems Administrator certificate would be worthwhile in terms of working with the interoperability priority from the CCM report.

Any feedback if this would be advisable or if another certificate would be more fitting would be much appreciated.

Thank you!
