i hope i find you all well can one switch from information systems/computer science  to health/medical informatics . At the moment in time i do possess an Msc Information systems ( NUST - Zimbabwe) and an honors in computer science .I would like to do a PHD in Health / Medical Informatics

  • It is possible to make a transition to Health/Medical Informatics but you'll almost definitely be required to have a good grounding in the biomedical sciences. The level of experience and or prior training in the life sciences field would depend on institution with which you intend to undertake your PhD studies. I hope this helps.

Speaker:

The seminar is hosted by Dr Chris Paton, a digital health researcher at Oxford University and Editor of the Health Informatics Forum. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Informatics and the UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics and worked as a medical doctor in the NHS and New Zealand before specialising in Clinical Informatics research at Oxford University. Dr Paton is Associate Editor for Sage Digital Health and BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making journals.
