In accordance with recommendations made by the IMIA General Assembly, the Nominating Committee is pleased to make public a request to all IMIA Members who are interested in appointing a nominee for the position of IMIA VP MedInfo for the 2019 - 2021 term.

The IMIA Executive Office proposes that all nominations be made and voted one year before the corresponding formal term begins. The reason for this approach is to have better continuity and involvement, allowing the transition from the current Board position to the next to be smoother and more effective.
Nominations for this open position must be made on behalf of an IMIA member society, corporate or academic member, accompanied by a letter of recommendation that supports and clearly states the reasons for the nomination, taking into account the profile, expectations and skills related to the position as described is this invitation.
The deadline to submit a nomination is September 28, 2018 (11:59 PM PT) and must be addressed to the current chair of the IMIA Nominating Committee, Dr. Hyeoun-Ae Park, IMIA Past President. Send the nominations directly to IMIA's CEO, Elaine Huesing at email@example.com.
The position and term to be filled:
IMIA VP MedInfo (term 2019-2021), with a term that overlaps with that of the current VP MedInfo for one year (2018), as approved by the IMIA GA.
The VP MedInfo is ultimately responsible for planning and coordinating a successful MedInfo, from the scientific as well as organizational points of view. The VP MedInfo works with the IMIA Executive Office, the Scientific Program Committee, the Editorial Board, the Local Organizing Committee and several other players in order to define a timeline of events, the need for funds and all actions related to carrying out a successful MedInfo.

The person that is recommended for VP Medinfo should have prior experience by having had some involvement in an official role in past MedInfos (e.g., SPC, judging best papers, student papers, EC, etc.)
